The Bio
Keenie Word was born into a rich ranching and rodeo heritage. Her Grandparents were some of the first Rodeo Stock Contractors in the western states ranching on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and in the Belvidere areas of South Dakota. Keenie’s mom, Kelli is a National Champion and earned a place in the Casey Tibbs Cowboy Hall of Fame as an “Outstanding Cowgirl in Rodeo” Her father Grady was a professional rodeo cowboy as a steer wrestler who was tragically killed in 2006 when he was struck in the face by a stallion. Keenie’s brother Jess Tierney is also a professional rodeo timed event cowboy and Keenie has become an accomplished rodeo competitor in her own right.

Along with her life on the ranch Keenie has discovered that she has passion for music that is as strong as anything she has felt in her young life. Her gift for singing has landed her recognition as the winner of Western South Dakota Colgate Country Showdown becoming a state finalist. She also has titles of South Dakota’s Got Talent, South Dakota Fairs and Festivals Grand Award and also Jr Black Hills Idol Award. You’ll find Keenie performing at fairs and rodeo events anytime she gets the chance to sing. Her first professional EP titled “THE NEW GIRL”, produced by Billy Aerts in Nashville, is sure to get a lot of people excited and talking about Keenie Word including major record labels in Nashville.
